As we know the reverse osmosis membranes are very sensitive to chlorine.And also the the active carbon filter can adsorb part of the metal ions in the water.Cat ionic resin in the precise filter is mainly be used for softening the water, reduce the hardness of water.As we know the hardness is mainly because of the calcium( Ca 2+), magnesium(Mg 2+) ion composition. After passing the filter, the Ca2 +, Mg2 + will be exchanged by sodium cat ionic.
